Plot summary
Colonel Ryder, a wealthy magazine publisher, dies in his Palm Beach hotel room. His nephew Tony inherits the business, and the board of directors doubts he is fit to run it. A hotel detective tells Tony that on the night of the death a young woman was seen running from the room in a Turkish towel and a single earring. Fearing the story could harm the magazine's wholesome image, Tony asks the detective to stay and find her.
