Plot summary
Bea, a law student, meets Ben, who works at a bank, at a coffee shop. They hit it off and spend a day together, falling asleep on Ben's couch. Bea leaves before he wakes, then returns to the apartment, overhears Ben talking about her to his friend Pete and goes away with the wrong idea. Half a year later, Bea's sister Halle is dating Pete's sister Claudia, and Bea and Ben meet again, each blaming the other for how their date ended. Halle and Claudia get engaged, with a wedding planned in Sydney. Bea has broken up with her fiancé Jonathan and left law school, and she and Ben end up on the same flight and in the same house. When their bickering upsets the wedding party, Bea persuades Ben to pretend they are a couple.
