50 Cent

Biography

Known professionally as 50 Cent, Curtis James Jackson III is an American rapper, actor, and television producer who began pursuing music in 1996 and broke through after Eminem discovered his 2002 mixtape Guess Who's Back? and signed him to Shady Records. His debut album, Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2003), hit number one on the Billboard 200 and yielded the chart-topping singles In da Club and 21 Questions. G-Unit Records followed that year, and The Massacre (2005) brought another number-one single. Later records, Curtis (2007) and Before I Self Destruct (2009), saw weaker reviews and sales. His screen credits include the film drawn from his own life, Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005), along with Home of the Brave (2006), Righteous Kill (2008), Den of Thieves (2018), and Expend4bles (2023). He executive produced and acted in Power from 2014 to 2020 and its spin-offs, and has won a Grammy and a Primetime Emmy.
