Plot summary
Shu Ren works as a field operator for Ray Breslin's security company. His relatives ask him to guard Yusheng Ma, a cousin whose telecommunications firm is about to unveil satellite communications technology; a rival company, Ruscho, has marked Yusheng as a target. Masked men seize the two after a party in Bangkok. Shu wakes inside HADES, a computerized prison whose layout shifts each night and where inmates are pitted against one another in fights, run by a warden who calls himself the Zookeeper. The Zookeeper offers freedom in return for Yusheng's patents, and Yusheng says he hid the technology rather than let it fall into the wrong hands. Breslin calls on an old contact, Trent DeRosa.
