Plot summary
An armored truck is hijacked in Los Angeles by a crew of former Marines led by Ray Merrimen, and a firefight with responding officers follows. Detective Nick O'Brien and the Major Crimes Unit take the case and settle on the recently paroled Merrimen as their main suspect. They seize Donnie Wilson, a bartender who says he drives for the crew without carrying a gun and who describes an earlier theft of cash from a stadium while denying he knows their plans. Merrimen and his men are studying the Federal Reserve, where roughly thirty million dollars in worn bills is pulled from circulation and destroyed each day. Donnie takes a job delivering Chinese food, which gets him inside the building.
