Plot summary
Tupac Shakur narrates his own story, and the film is assembled from home movies, photographs and poems he recites. He describes a childhood with a mother who was addicted to crack, time spent in the care of drug dealers on the streets, and the different jobs he did to earn money. He talks about poetry, about his friendship with Jada and about the meaning of his lyrics, and about the resentment the media directed at him. Recordings from his years as a rap artist and actor are heard, together with music he wrote and performed and with songs by other artists.
