Home of the Brave (2006) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lieutenant Colonel Dr. William Marsh, Sergeant Vanessa Price and Specialists Tommy Yates and Jamal Aiken serve in a National Guard unit from Spokane, deployed in Iraq. Word arrives that the unit will rotate home in two weeks, and a last assignment carries medical supplies to a remote village. Insurgents ambush the convoy in a narrow street. Price, a driver, is gravely wounded, and Marsh, the unit's surgeon, treats the wounded. Back in Spokane the soldiers return to civilian life. Price, who lost her right hand, is fitted with a rubber prosthesis and works to get back to her job as a teacher and coach. Yates, who worked at a gun shop, no longer has that job, and his father urges him toward the police academy.
