Plot summary
Jim Flagg wears the marshal's badge in the town of Progress, and he hears that Big John McKay, his longtime rival, is riding toward it. Flagg brings word of a possible train robbery to Mayor Wilker, who wants no panic and retires him instead of acting on the warning. A younger marshal takes over the job. Flagg leaves town on his own and finds that McKay has thrown in with a band of youthful outlaws led by the young and vicious Waco. In Progress, the mayor and the townspeople shrug off the danger. The gang means to rob the train before it reaches the town bank.
