Plot summary
Jim Kane is a cowboy in Nogales, Arizona, with more good nature than good sense, and he takes whatever jack-of-all-trades work comes his way. His latest horse purchase leaves his bank loans in jeopardy, and a hotel clerk lets him sleep in the maid's room. His ex-wife goes easy on the alimony he cannot pay. He turns down a job from his uncle and instead agrees to buy cattle in Mexico for a businessman with a bad reputation. In Mexico he teams up with Leonard, an old friend who came south chasing get-rich-quick schemes. The two set out to buy cattle from local ranchers.
