Plot summary
Woody Stevens, Doug Madsen, Bobby Davis and Dudley Frank are middle-aged friends in a Cincinnati suburb who escape their routines on weekends by riding with their motorcycle club, the Wild Hogs. Woody practices law, has money and a supermodel wife. Doug, a dentist, struggles to connect with his son Billy. Bobby, a plumber, is disrespected by his wife Karen. Dudley is single, shy with women and works with computers. When Woody's wife divorces him and leaves him bankrupt, he persuades the other three to ride to California. On the road the four stop at a roadhouse bar, where they meet the Del Fuegos, a biker gang from New Mexico run by Jack Blade.

- In March 2007 the Hells Angels filed suit against Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group, alleging that the film used both the name and the distinctive logo of the Hells Angels Motorcycle Club without permission; that suit resulted in voluntary dismissal.
- Disney announced a sequel, Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride, for 2010, but after Old Dogs, its next comedy starring John Travolta, was a critical failure in November 2009, the studio canceled both that sequel and Wedding Banned, a comedy due to star Robin Williams, Diane Keaton and Anna Faris.
- Wild Hogs opened on March 2, 2007 and grossed $39.7 million on its opening weekend, ranking number one in box office sales and nearly tripling the debut of fellow opener Zodiac.
- The film fell just 30.5% in its second weekend and ultimately grossed $168.2 million domestically and $253.6 million worldwide, becoming John Travolta's first film since The General's Daughter in 1999 to gross over $100 million domestically.
- Although the story is set in Ohio and other locations, apart from the final scene in southern California it was filmed in New Mexico; the ending showdown takes place in the real town of Madrid, New Mexico, with many of its townspeople used as extras in June 2006.
- Orange County Choppers, run by Paul Teutul Sr. with design work by Paul Teutul Jr., supplied the logo on the motorcycle used by Jack, and both Teutuls make cameo appearances in the film.
