Plot summary

U.S. Army Special Forces Rangers Hannibal, Face, B.A. Baracus and Murdock are the A-Team. In Iraq, CIA operative Lynch sends them to recover stolen Treasury plates and over a billion dollars in cash before it leaves Baghdad. General Morrison, their commanding officer, approves the operation only reluctantly, and Captain Charissa Sosa, who once dated Face, urges them to stay out of it. The team brings the plates back, and Brock Pike of the Black Forest security firm destroys the money and Morrison's vehicle at the base.

Mr. T, the original B. A. Baracus, was offered a cameo but turned it down, feeling it would not be right for him to appear if he did not play Baracus. After the premiere he reportedly said he had become disillusioned, felt the story emphasized sex and violence, and that it was unfaithful to the original series.
Original series actor Dirk Benedict, who played Templeton "Faceman" Peck, called his own cameo in the remake "a non part" and "kind of insulting," noting his entire appearance amounted to about three seconds of screen time.
German magazine Der Spiegel pointed out glaring factual errors in the film, including German border police who speak Norwegian and wear Norwegian uniforms, and an aerial shot meant to show Frankfurt that actually features Cologne Cathedral, a landmark over 150 kilometers away.
Liam Neeson commented in early 2012 that he understood why the film was not successful: "I watched it about two months ago and I found it a little confusing and I was in the thing. I just couldn't figure out who was who and what's been done to him and why."
Director John Singleton was originally attached to the film and, while he was still on board, mixed martial artist and rapper Ice Cube was approached to play B.A. Baracus, before Singleton dropped out in October 2008.
The production was initially greenlit on a budget of $80 million, but the final cost of the film was $110 million, which came down to around $100 million after tax credits.
