Plot summary

Killer Bean, an assassin known as a Shadow Bean, works for the Shadow Agency. The agency sends him to Beantown, and when a DJ at a warehouse party ignores his request to turn the music down, Killer Bean kills everyone in the warehouse. The DJ was the nephew of Cappuccino, a crime boss and drug lord. Detective Cromwell and his colleague Harry investigate the shooting, and Cappuccino orders his henchman Vagan to kill Killer Bean. Killer Bean's superior warns him that he has drawn unwanted attention and tells him to concentrate on his target. Meanwhile, another Shadow Agency agent, Jet Bean, is given a mission in Beantown.

Killer Bean Forever took about five years to create, with a year and a half of pre-production and three years of animation across roughly 1,000 shots. Animators are generally given one to four weeks per shot, so that would normally take 20 years; Lew used an inexpensive 2D motion capture system to speed things up, primarily with lip-sync.
The whole film was officially uploaded to YouTube in 4K resolution in May 2018, and had gained more than 89 million views there as of July 2026.
Jeff Lew's second short, "The Killer Bean 2", took about three years to create and was released on iFilm in 2000; in about six months it drew roughly a million views, which was significant before YouTube.
The Killer Bean franchise began as a 1996 short, "The Killer Bean: The Interrogation," which Jeff Lew made purely to teach himself animation and which only drew about 3,000 views.
