Biography

Virginia Christine was an American actress whose career took in radio, stage, film, television and voice work. Born in Stanton, Iowa, she started in radio during college, trained for a theatrical career, and first acted on stage in Los Angeles in Hedda Gabler in 1942. Warner Bros. signed her, and her first film for the studio was Edge of Darkness (1943). She later signed with Universal Pictures, where she appeared in The Mummy's Curse (1944) and The Killers (1946), and she took a part in the 1964 remake of The Killers. Her film work also included Not as a Stranger (1955), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Judgment at Nuremberg (1961), 4 for Texas (1963) and Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (1967). On television she guest-starred often, and from 1965 she spent 21 years as Mrs. Olson in Folgers commercials. She retired in 1979.
