Vincent Perez
Biography
Vincent Perez, a Swiss actor, director and photographer, was born in Lausanne, trained in Geneva, at the CNSAD and at the Théâtre Nanterre-Amandiers, and began on stage. His breakthrough was playing Christian in Cyrano de Bergerac (1990) opposite Gérard Depardieu, which earned a César Award nomination. He later made French films including Indochine (1992), Queen Margot (1994) and Le Bossu. He led The Crow: City of Angels (1996) as Ashe Corven and played Marius de Romanus in Queen of the Damned (2002). On television he starred as Lieutenant Vincent Revel in Paris enquêtes criminelles, the French Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and played the monster in a 2004 Frankenstein TV movie. He also directs, and his short films L'échange and Rien à dire each earned a Palme d'Or nomination at Cannes. As a photographer, he has shown his work at festivals and galleries, including Face to Face at Rencontres d'Arles.
