Time Regained (1999) on Netflix

Plot summary

Marcel, an author in early 1920s France, lies ill in his room and dictates to his caretaker Céleste. He flips through photographs, naming each person in them. The pictures draw out his memories, one leading to another. At a party, Odette de Crécy turns the guests to look at Marcel as a boy of ten, and he tips his hat to her daughter Gilberte. He recalls a lunch with the grown Gilberte and their talk of books, and Albertine, the fiancée he once had.
