Plot summary

Turandot is the princess of the Great Khanate, and her father is the Great Khan. Three Mazovian bracelets reach her as birthday gifts, and the mysterious power inside them drains her life and makes her cruel, so that she slowly loses her humanity. She grows fierce, and foreign visitors who come before her must solve three riddles that she sets. Calaf is an orphan, and he falls in love with Turandot. The story is drawn from the opera Turandot.
