Plot summary
Detective Carson O'Conner and her partner Michael Sloane work the case of a serial killer in present-day New Orleans who mutilates his victims and removes their internal organs. The two learn that Victor Frankenstein is still alive after two centuries and now calls himself Victor Helios. In the years since, he has made genetically engineered creatures, part of a plan to build a legion of followers who will help him overthrow humans, whom he calls the Old Race. His very first creation is also alive: Deucalion, who wants to kill the man who made him and lends the detective his help.

- Intended as the launch of a series from a Dean Koontz concept, the 2004 Frankenstein was ordered reworked by USA Network and the producers until Koontz lost interest, withdrew, and turned his pitch into the Dean Koontz's Frankenstein books. Executive producer Martin Scorsese then wanted out before the project fell through.
