Big break
Wareheim and Heidecker sent an early version of their show to Bob Odenkirk, a comedian. He agreed to be executive producer and sold the series to Adult Swim.
A first
Filmed like a typical standup special, An Evening with Tim Heidecker came out on YouTube on October 23, 2020. In it Heidecker parodies the format by deliberately playing a hack stand-up comic.
Behind the camera
In December 2020, Heidecker and Turkington launched the HEI Network, an independently run internet platform. Subscriptions there helped fund and distribute On Cinema after Adult Swim canceled all of its livestream programs.
Behind the camera
Heidecker and Wareheim directed a run of Old Spice ads in 2010 that featured actor Terry Crews. Their Abso Lutely Productions also made "Tim and Eric Nite Live!" for the website SuperDeluxe, drawing on characters and skits from Awesome Show.
