Plot summary
Financial pressures and a family tragedy lead Dave and Alice to leave their suburban life. They move their family off-grid into the remote North American wilderness. The parents hope for a fresh start and an escape from the pressures of society, and the family learns survival skills for life in the wild. Alice, a former teacher, lives with bipolar disorder. Her behavior becomes unpredictable as the condition worsens. Dave thinks rest can cure her condition, and he becomes suspicious of outsiders.
