Plot summary

Anne is a seventeen-year-old yearbook editor at a Los Angeles public high school. Watching a softball game, she realizes she has fallen for Sasha, the team's star player. She tells Clifton, her best friend, who has feelings for her of his own, and he takes the news badly. Anne uses yearbook interviews as a reason to visit Sasha, and over the following weeks the two build a friendship through texting and time together; when Sasha's team loses a big game, Anne is the one who comforts her. Clifton, jealous, keeps lashing out at Anne and tries to interfere with what is growing between the two girls.
