Biography

Nicholas Woodeson is an English actor who has worked across theater, television, and film. Born in Sudan and raised in Haifa, Israel, he studied English at the University of Sussex before winning a scholarship to RADA. After drama school he worked a season at the Everyman Theatre in Liverpool, then spent seven years with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has been nominated for a Drama Desk Award and an Olivier Award, and in 2017 he played Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, a performance that earned him a UK Theatre Award nomination. His first film work was in Heaven's Gate (1980). He later appeared in The Russia House (1990) and The Pelican Brief (1993), and he had a role in the James Bond film Skyfall (2012). On television he played Otto Hoffman in Conspiracy and Posca in the two Rome series.
