Plot summary
In 1961, Israeli agents capture the former SS officer Adolf Eichmann and bring him to Jerusalem for trial over his part in the murder of millions of Jews. Milton Fruchtman, an American television producer, wants the world to hear the survivors' accounts and brings in Leo Hurwitz, a blacklisted director, to film the proceedings. Networks are reluctant, death threats arrive, and the prime minister, David Ben-Gurion, fears the case will become a show trial. The judges object to cameras in their courtroom, so the crew conceals them in the walls. The daily footage is edited and shown in some three dozen countries.
