Nathaniel Parker
Biography
Nathaniel Parker is an English stage and screen actor known for period roles and crime drama. Born in London, he trained as an actor and joined the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1986. Early screen work included Piece of Cake and an episode of Inspector Morse. On stage he played Bassanio in The Merchant of Venice and later appeared with Helen Mirren in The Audience. His portrayal of King Henry VIII in Wolf Hall earned a Laurence Olivier Award and a Tony Award nomination. Parker led the BBC series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries for several seasons and played Agravaine de Bois in Merlin. Among his films are Wilfred Owen in War Requiem, Dunstan Thorn in Stardust, the Ghost in Ophelia, and a supporting part in The Last Duel. He has also recorded audiobooks and radio dramas.

After training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, Parker became part of the Royal Shakespeare Company in 1986. He had also joined the National Youth Theatre.
