Plot summary
A chest washes up on a Japanese shore with a white baby boy inside, and a ninja clan takes him in. Their legend promises a foreign white man who will be a master like no other, so the boy, Haru, trains as the Great White Ninja. He grows up clumsy and overweight and never graduates. While the clan is away, Haru guards the temple alone, and an American woman, Sally Jones, comes to him for help, saying she suspects her boyfriend, Martin Tanley, and wants him investigated. Haru finds Tanley and his bodyguard, Nobu, involved with the Yakuza in a counterfeiting operation, and the police blame Haru for a killing connected to it. He flies to Beverly Hills to find Sally, and his sensei arranges for Gobei, the brother Haru grew up with, to shadow him.
