Linda Hamilton
Biography
Linda Hamilton is an American actress known for playing tough, resilient characters. Born in Salisbury, Maryland, she studied at Washington College and later attended acting workshops with Lee Strasberg in New York City. She made her film debut in 1979 with a small part in Night-Flowers, then gained fame as Sarah Connor in The Terminator (1984), Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) and Terminator: Dark Fate (2019). Her other films include Dante's Peak (1997), Mr. Destiny (1990), Children of the Corn (1984), King Kong Lives (1986), Black Moon Rising (1986) and The Kid & I (2005). On television she played Catherine Chandler in Beauty and the Beast from 1987 to 1990, and later appeared in Chuck and Stranger Things. She has won two Saturn Awards and two MTV Movie Awards, along with a Satellite Award and a Romy Award, and earned Golden Globe and Emmy nominations. She has also acted on stage in Laura and The Night of the Iguana.

Early training
Hamilton spent two years at Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland, where her acting professor said she had no hope of making a living as an actress. She then moved to New York City for acting workshops given by Lee Strasberg.
Getting ready for a role
Hamilton did intense physical training to show how her character had changed in the seven years since the first film. She said her trainer yelled at her and threw tennis balls while she shot weapons blindfolded.
