- At least two scenes were cut from the final film and both featured Michael Caine: one set in the garage at Larry's mansion, the other showing his character appearing to Larry after he escapes Ellen's dog. Portions of both scenes can be seen in the original theatrical trailer.
- For the baseball scenes the production used the team from Richard J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the company office building is the former headquarters of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company.
