Plot summary

A U.S. Special Forces team under Sergeant Kelly is ambushed during a nighttime operation in a remote desert, and the soldiers vanish from the battlefield mid-firefight. They wake inside translucent stasis pods on a vast, dimly lit alien vessel. The pods dissolve and expel them. In the corridors they find skinned human corpses, weapons they do not recognize, and unfamiliar technology. Armored, eyeless humanoids with claws and energy shields attack, and the soldiers answer with their remaining weapons and scavenged alien gear. They meet Ravi, a wary young Russian woman, who says the vessel gathers humans and processes them as food. She leads them through little-used maintenance tunnels, and after several battles she tells them of a safe room.
