Biography

Jeff Garlin is a stand-up comedian and actor. He first performed stand-up while studying film at the University of Miami, then returned to Chicago in 1984 and worked with The Second City. On television, he played Marvin on Mad About You from 1997 to 1999, Jeff Greene on Curb Your Enthusiasm, which he executive produced, Mort Meyers on Arrested Development, and Murray Goldberg on The Goldbergs. His film work includes an uncredited debut in Spring Break (1983), his first credited role in Straight Talk (1992), and parts in Daddy Day Care (2003), After the Sunset (2004), The Rocker (2008), Strange Wilderness (2008), ParaNorman (2012), Safety Not Guaranteed (2012), and Laggies (2014). He voiced Captain B. McCrea in WALL-E (2008) and Buttercup in Toy Story 3 (2010). He wrote and directed I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With (2006), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. He also directed the one-man show This Filthy World and executive produced Finding Vivian Maier.
