Plot summary
Strange Wilderness is the animal program Peter Gaulke took over after its original host, his father, died, and the ratings have slid since then. Called to the K-PIP studio, Peter and his soundman Fred meet the rival host Sky Pierson and hear from the network head, Ed Lawson, that the show has two weeks unless something big happens. Bill Calhoun, a friend of Peter's father, arrives with photographs of Bigfoot in Ecuador and a map to a cave. Pierson offers $1,000 for the map, and Peter, unable to pay, promises Bill the money within a week. With equipment manager Lynn Cooker, driver Danny Gutierrez, cameraman Junior and Milas, the show's original cameraman, he prepares the journey, adding animal handler Whitaker and travel agent Cheryl.
