Plot summary

The documentary retells the life of George Lazenby through interviews with him and dramatized scenes in which actors speak his words. Born an at-risk infant in Australia, he grows up determined never to fail again after leaving school without a certificate. He becomes a car mechanic, notices the salesmen live better, and persuades the dealership manager to let him sell. Failing at first, he takes a course on winning friends and learns to listen and let the other person talk. He succeeds, handles vehicles for embassy staff, and meets a politician's granddaughter. When she moves to London, he crosses in steerage to be near her, and that pursuit sets him toward the role of James Bond.
