Plot summary
Vesuvius, a rock band from Cleveland, is offered a recording contract and a tour opening for Whitesnake, and the group replaces its drummer, Robert "Fish" Fishman, with the record company president's nephew. Twenty years on, Vesuvius is a success while Fish lives an ordinary life. His high school nephew Matt Gadman plays keyboards in an alternative band, A.D.D., with Curtis Powell and Amelia Stone. When their drummer is suspended and cannot play the school prom, Matt talks the others into letting Fish sit in. Fish's impromptu solo wrecks the set, but he loves Curtis's songs and wants back in. He asks to join A.D.D., offering to book them a real gig if they agree.
