Jeanne Crain
Biography
Jeanne Crain was an American actress who began winning leads in school plays and beauty contests before making a bit part in The Gang's All Here in 1943. Born in Barstow, California, she became one of 20th Century Fox's bigger stars, appearing in State Fair (1945) and Leave Her to Heaven (1945), A Letter to Three Wives (1949), and Cheaper by the Dozen (1950). Her title role in Pinky (1949) brought an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Crain also starred in People Will Talk (1951), Vicki (1953), Duel in the Jungle (1954), Man Without a Star (1955), The Fastest Gun Alive (1956), Gentlemen Marry Brunettes (1955), The Tattered Dress (1957), and The Joker Is Wild (1957). Later credits included Queen of the Nile (1961) and Skyjacked (1972). She died in 2003.

Beyond film
Later in the 1950s, Crain, Jane Russell and another actress formed a lounge act on the Las Vegas Strip, where they sang and danced. The act was short-lived.
