Plot summary
Bonnie and Connie Jones are sisters dancing in Broadway shows, the daughters of Mitzi Jones, who once performed with her sister Mimi. Men keep making the sisters offers. Connie turns each one down; Bonnie cannot, and the fights that follow outside the theater leave Connie embarrassed that they are related. Connie asks Bonnie to promise to turn the men away so that their career comes first, and when the sisters make up, a messenger brings an offer to perform in shows around France, sent by David Action. The sisters agree and travel to Paris. Charlie Biddle and David Action greet them there and are struck by how little the new Jones sisters resemble the first. The sisters say they own little; an average-looking dress for their shows took three months of savings.

Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Choreographer Jack Cole, who had worked on Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, gave a young Gwen Verdon a specialty number in the film that was cut from the US release for being too sexy.
- The studio tried to repeat the Gentlemen Prefer Blondes formula with Jane Russell returning, but Jeanne Crain stepped in for a presumably otherwise engaged Marilyn Monroe, and both actresses played new characters.
