Plot summary
Mitch Buchannon is a lieutenant of Baywatch, the lifeguard division that patrols Emerald Bay, Florida, with Stephanie Holden and CJ Parker on his crew. On a morning patrol he comes across a small pouch of the drug flakka on the sand near the Huntley Club, which the businesswoman Victoria Leeds owns. Matt Brody, a two-time Olympic swimming gold medalist, arrives at the bay expecting a place on the team without trying out, and Mitch tells him he has to earn it. Summer Quinn and Ronnie Greenbaum are among the other hopefuls trying out. Captain Thorpe tells Mitch that Brody's position is part of a community service deal meant to keep the bay's funding, so the two have to work together.
