Edward Burns
Biography
Edward Burns is an American actor and filmmaker who broke through with The Brothers McMullen (1995), a low-budget independent feature he financed, produced, directed and starred in, shot largely in his hometown of Valley Stream, New York. After a copy reached Robert Redford, the film was accepted at Sundance and found audiences worldwide. He went on to write, direct and act in She's the One (1996) and Sidewalks of New York (2001), and he took roles in Saving Private Ryan (1998), Confidence (2003), Life or Something Like It (2002), The Holiday (2006), 27 Dresses (2008), Alex Cross (2012) and Man on a Ledge (2012). On television, he played Bugsy Siegel in the TNT crime drama Mob City and Terry Muldoon in TNT's Public Morals. He also directed The Fitzgerald Family Christmas (2012).
