Plot summary
Lanie Kerrigan reports for a Seattle television station and hopes for a network career. She interviews Jack, a homeless man who calls himself a prophet, about whether he can forecast football scores. Jack gives the exact result and says hail will fall the next morning. He also says that Lanie has only days left, naming the following Thursday. The score comes in as he said, and so does the weather. Shaken, Lanie seeks another test of what Jack knows.
