Did you know?!Facts and trivia about The Holiday (2006)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Iris's picture-postcard Surrey cottage is not a real house. The team found a genuine cottage but it was too far from the crew's London base, so they built the exterior from scratch in a field beside St James's Church in Shere.
- Dustin Hoffman's video-store cameo was an accident. He was on his way to Blockbuster to rent a film, saw the crew's lights, wandered over to look, and director Nancy Meyers, whom he knew, wrote him a short scene on the spot.
- Eli Wallach was 90 years old during filming and so lively on set that Nancy Meyers repeatedly had to ask him to slow down and act more like an old man.
