Plot summary
Jane Nichols has loved weddings since she was eight years old, and she has long looked forward to her own. She has since been a bridesmaid 27 times, putting other people's needs ahead of her own. Her boss is George, whom she loves without telling him. One evening, while attending two weddings, she shares a taxi with Kevin Doyle, a reporter who writes about weddings and dismisses her romantic hopes. She leaves her day planner in the cab, and Kevin pitches a story about her to his editor, writing under a different name. That week her younger sister Tess returns from a European tour, meets George at a party and takes his interest, and the two are soon engaged. Jane is drawn into planning their wedding.
