Biography
Bella Thorne is an American actress, singer, and writer who first gained notice for television roles in Dirty Sexy Money and My Own Worst Enemy, the latter earning her a Young Artist Award. She became a prominent Disney Channel star as CeCe Jones on Shake It Up, which ran from 2010 to 2013 and won her an Imagen Award. Her film credits include Blended (2014), Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip (2015), and The Babysitter (2017) with its sequel The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020). She drew praise for The DUFF (2015), Amityville: The Awakening (2017), and Infamous (2020), and led the drama series Famous in Love from 2017 to 2018, earning Teen Choice Award nominations. Thorne also released music, including the 2011 single Watch Me and the EPs Made in Japan and Jersey, and wrote the Autumn Falls novels.

Getting ready for a role
Thorne had no professional dancing experience before she was cast. After she signed onto the show in October 2009, she started taking three dance classes every night.
A role that slipped away
Thorne was cast in 2014 in MTV's Scream, a TV adaptation of the original slasher film series. She turned down the lead role, choosing instead the "mean, terrible Nina" because she thought that part would be more iconic.

Thorne described her casting on My Own Worst Enemy as a major breakthrough, since it was the first recurring role of her career.
