Plot summary
Frank, a widower who works as a zookeeper in Rhode Island, raises his ten-year-old daughter Shane. He overeats and neglects basic hygiene, which worries her. Inside his body is a city of cells and germs, where Osmosis Jones, called Ozzy, serves as a white blood cell officer. The mayor, Phlegmming, favors junk food so he can attend a food festival in Buffalo. When Frank eats a boiled egg covered in filth, the virus Thrax enters him and inflames his throat. Phlegmming has Frank take a cold pill, the agent Drix, who disinfects the throat and hides the signs of Thrax. Ozzy is assigned to assist Drix.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about Osmosis Jones (2001)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- The film was originally rated PG-13 for crude language and bodily humor, but Warner Bros. re-edited it afterward so it could be released with a family-friendlier PG rating.
- Will Smith was interested in the lead voice role in early 1999 but was busy filming Wild Wild West; that same year he turned down Neo in The Matrix, a decision he later regretted.
- A Kid Rock song used in the soundtrack drew criticism because its full, uncensored version contains lyrics that promote statutory rape.
- The film performed poorly and was the penultimate project from Warner Bros. Feature Animation, coming after The Iron Giant and before Looney Tunes: Back in Action, which also failed commercially.
