The Castaway Cowboy (1974) on Netflix

Plot summary

Lincoln Costain, a Texas cowboy, is shanghaied in San Francisco and jumps ship. He comes ashore on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, where Henrietta MacAvoy, a widow, and her twelve-year-old son Booton take him in. The family is struggling to make a living as farmers, and wild cattle often trample their crops. Costain gets the idea of taking up cattle ranching instead. The Hawaiian farm hands do not readily take to the American cowboy's ways. While Costain waits on the island for a way back to Texas, Calvin Bryson, a banker with a henchman named Marruja, has eyes on Henrietta's land and maybe on Henrietta herself.
