Tom Towles
Biography
Tom Towles was an American character actor who worked in film, theater and television and often played villains and intimidating supporting figures. Born in Chicago, he began acting there in 1971 with the Organic Theater Company and also performed at the Goodman Theatre. His first screen appearance was a small police part in Dog Day Afternoon (1975), after which he returned to Chicago stages; he came back to film in Pink Nights (1985). His breakthrough role was Otis in the film Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986), which brought an Independent Spirit Award nomination in the Best Supporting Male category. He later appeared in Night of the Living Dead (1990), Blood In Blood Out (1993) and Miami Vice (2006), and worked with Rob Zombie on House of 1000 Corpses (2003) and The Devil's Rejects (2005). Television roles included Seinfeld, NYPD Blue and ER. He died in 2015.
