Rosemary DeCamp
Biography
Rosemary DeCamp was an American actress who worked in radio, film, and television. Born in Prescott, Arizona, she first became known in 1937 for playing Judy Price on the long-running Dr. Christian radio series. Her film debut came with Cheers for Miss Bishop (1941), and she went on to appear in Warner Bros. films such as Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942), This Is the Army (1943), and Nora Prentiss (1947). In Jungle Book (1942) she was cast as the mother of Sabu Dastagir's character. In the 1950s she starred as Alice Winfield, Doris Day's mother, opposite Leon Ames, in On Moonlight Bay (1951) and its later follow-up By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953). On television she originated Peg Riley in the first version of The Life of Riley, was a regular on The Bob Cummings Show from 1955 to 1959, and had a recurring role on That Girl from 1966 to 1970. She died in 2001.

DeCamp was Peg Riley in the first TV version of The Life of Riley, playing opposite Jackie Gleason during the 1949-1950 season. She later took the same part on radio with William Bendix, the original star, in a 1950 Lux Radio Theater episode.
