Plot summary
Eric Toresen is a widower in occupied Norway who raises his small daughter, Solveig, in a quiet fishing village. German forces take the village in the Second World War, and the abuses that follow stir the peaceful man to violence against the occupiers. He forms a Resistance group and becomes the leader of an underground movement against the German forces.
