Jane Curtin
Biography
Jane Curtin is an American actress and comedian who grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts, and started out with the comedy group The Proposition and an off-Broadway play before joining the original cast of Saturday Night Live in 1975. She remained with the show until 1980, becoming known for straight-woman performances opposite John Belushi and Gilda Radner and for anchoring Weekend Update. Two Emmy Awards as lead actress in a comedy came her way for Kate & Allie, in which she played Allie Lowell, and from 1996 to 2001 she was Dr. Mary Albright on 3rd Rock from the Sun. She reprised her Conehead character Prymaat for the 1993 film Coneheads and voiced a wasp in Antz. Later screen roles included a mother in I Love You, Man (2009) and a small part in The Heat (2013), and she acted on Broadway in Candida and a 2002 revival of Our Town.
