Plot summary
Sent from the planet Remulak ahead of an invasion, Beldar and Prymatt survive when American fighter jets fire on their craft and it goes down in the Atlantic near Manhattan. Beldar finds work repairing appliances, and after his undocumented status comes up, his employer Otto arranges false papers through local gangsters, drawing the attention of the INS. Agent Gorman Seedling and his assistant Eli Turnbull keep trying to capture them without success. The pair works at seeming ordinary among humans despite cone-shaped heads and metallic voices, and Prymaat has news for Beldar: she is pregnant. No rescue ship will reach them for years.

- Tom Davis, who created the Coneheads characters on Saturday Night Live, wrote the first version of the screenplay and was unhappy with choices made by the producers, including setting the Remulak scenes in a gladiators' arena rather than the suburban environment he had envisioned.
