Biography
April Winchell is an American comedian, actress and voice actress who has been the voice of Clarabelle Cow since 1996. Born in New York City and raised in the Los Angeles area, she studied at Orange Coast College, where in 1977 a Los Angeles Times critic praised her lead performance in the summer theater production Mack and Mabel. Her animation work includes Peg Pete on Goof Troop, Mrs. Muriel Finster on Recess, and Clarabelle Cow on House of Mouse and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, along with roles on Bonkers, Pepper Ann, The Legend of Tarzan, 101 Dalmatians: The Series and SWAT Kats. On film she has been heard in Antz (1998), Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Monsters University and The Haunted World of El Superbeasto. On stage she has taken the role of Ado Annie in a Columbia Artists revival of Oklahoma! and acted with Kevin Spacey in Gypsy. She hosted a KFI radio program and wrote for Roseanne.

Winchell wrote and directed a series of radio commercials as the cranky Glendale Federal Bank lady, and the spots caught Roseanne Barr's attention, who then hired her as a writer on Roseanne.

Winchell created and performed the role of Sheila Sands in a show staged at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, which drew sold out crowds. Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner produced it after discovering her at Cafe Largo in Hollywood.
Early training
In August 1977, Winchell played the female lead in Orange Coast College's summer theater production of Mack and Mabel, drawing praise from Los Angeles Times critic Richard Buffum.
