Henry Hull
Biography
Henry Hull was an American actor who worked mostly as a stage lead and a screen character actor, and he was known for starring in Universal Pictures's Werewolf of London (1935). Born in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of a theater manager, he began his career in 1912 with the Greek Repertory Company and reached Broadway the following year in Believe Me, Xantippe. On stage he created the role of Jeeter Lester in Tobacco Road, and he later toured a one-man show of Mark Twain readings. In films he appeared in 74 features from 1917 to 1966, often in supporting parts. His credits included Jesse James (1939), Lifeboat (1944) as a wealthy industrialist, High Sierra (1941), The Fountainhead (1949) as architect Henry Cameron, Colorado Territory (1949), Inferno (1953) as a desert prospector, and his final film The Chase (1966). He also appeared on television series including Bonanza and Laramie. He died in 1977.
