Plot summary
Donald Carson III, a wealthy industrialist, breaks his leg while crossing the Mojave Desert with his wife Gerry and a mining engineer, Joe Duncan. Gerry and Joe tell him they will seek medical aid, but the two are lovers and do not return, expecting the desert heat to kill him. Law officers search the desert for the missing man. Carson vows to survive and take revenge on the pair who abandoned him, and alone in the desert he must keep himself alive, managing with a broken leg and looking for water and food in the dry ground while the couple wait at his Los Angeles mansion.
