Henry Goodman
Biography
Henry Goodman is an English actor whose career spans stage, television, film and radio, with his greatest acclaim on stage. Born in Whitechapel, London, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art from 1969. He created the role of Roy Cohn in the 1991 world premiere of Angels in America, and his Charles Guiteau in Assassins at the Donmar Warehouse won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. His Shylock in The Merchant of Venice brought him a second Olivier Award, for Best Actor, in 2000. He has also played Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls and Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof. On film he had a cameo in Notting Hill (1999) and played a Hydra doctor in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, later Dr List in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avengers: Age of Ultron. He has also appeared in Foyle's War and Call the Midwife and on radio.

A role that slipped away
Goodman appeared on Broadway in three shows. In 2002 he briefly took over from Nathan Lane as Max Bialystock in The Producers, but creative differences with Mel Brooks led to his dismissal after one month.
